With a population of over 127 million people and home to some of the largest manufacturing companies in the world the Japanese market is the third largest economy in the world. Just in case you where in any doubt how large Japanese industry is, Japan produces 50% more cars per year than the next country - Germany.
With our extensive knowledge of the Japanese market and Japan's truly individual culture, we can offer a unique insight into Japanese Culture, Society and business and make your documentation stand head and shoulders above the rest. With staff who have lived in Japan as well as native Japanese staff we know what is required to make your materials work in the Japanese market place. We can also offer insights into whether your products are suitable for the Japanese market and if so how best to market them.
We offer both English to Japanese and Japanese to English translations at competitive rates depending on your requirements.
Our translation price is calculated on the volume and complexity of the documents to be translated and the time scales required, with our main areas of expertise in the Brewing, Architectural and Construction industries allowing us to offer discounts in documents translations in these area.
We can also offer guide services to clients wishing to visit the Kansai area of Japan, such as Osaka, Kobe and Akashi (subject to availability)
Translation Terms and Conditions
1. Quotations provided via email based on word counts are estimates only, we cannot provide a firm quotation until we have seen the documentation to be translated.
2. Documents are to be provided in digital format, this can be scanned documents, supplied in PDF, JPeG format or MS Word files. Downloads from websites will attract an additional charge per page.
3. Once the documents you wish translated are received by Milkshake, we will amend/provide our quote accordingly. It is at our discretion as to whether the job is then undertaken at this point.
4. An expected date for finalization will be provided once we have all the documentation, rush jobs will incur an additional daily surcharge. Our minimum turn around time will depend on the amount of documentation which needs translation and the complexity of this information. Delivery dates will also vary if documentation is not supplied to Milkshake when requested by the client.
5. Once pricing has been agreed payment must be provided before the job starts. All charges are to be paid up front by Credit Card, BACS or Cheque. Work will not be undertaken until payment is received and cleared.
6. Credit terms will only be provided to previous customers and our terms are payment on delivery.
7. Documents will be returned in digital format, Word or PDF format. All text is supplied in plain format text only (see 13 for other formats). (additional software may need to be installed on your computer to view Japanese characters)
8. Wording is supplied in a format where both English and Japanese can be seen side by side for comparision purposes.
9. Additions and/or amendments to the original supplied documentation will be charged at our standard rate and payment expected accordingly.
10. Any errors on our behalf will be translated free of charge but must be notified to us within 5 days of completion of translation. Incorrect character translations will not be grounds to challenge the entire document translation. No claims will be considered after this time.
11. Any liability to Milkshake Design shall be limited to the billable amount on the invoice only.
12. In the event that a client cancels any translation work then you will be charged at 50% of the invoice price if work is already in progress - and a refund given of the other 50%. Completed work will be charged the full invoice amount regardless of delivery.
13. Any text which is needed in graphical format for illustration, web or design work, such as websites or documentation/illustration layouts will attract our standard design fee charge.
14. Confidentiality agreements are assumed once a job starts, we strive to keep your data safe at all times.
